Shine Your Cadillac Lyrics

You can shine your Cadillac, another way
With the last drop of spit that was left in my mouth
I was watching all your TV shows the night I said goodbye
To the world I know

So raise your chin and raise a glass
Say here to winning this again and again
Say I don't care what it cost
Is this the wealth that sells the skin
I faced more lanes we lose again and again
Say I don't care what it cost

You can dye your hair tonight. another way
To much the color of the ground that I am buried in
I was reading all your magazines I have something
Until you turned from me

So raise your chin and raise a glass
Say here to winning this again and again
Say I don't care what it cost
Is this the wealth that sells the skin
I faced more lanes we lose again and again
Say I don't care what it cost

Will you hang me from you
I might as well just because..
God knows I have not been moving for three days now
Say I don't care what it cost

So raise your chin and raise a glass
Say here to winning this again and again
Say I don't care what it cost
Is this the wealth that sells the skin
I faced more lanes we lose again and again
Say I don't care what it cost

"You can shine your Cadillac, another way. With the last drop of spit that was left in my mouth. I was watching all your TV shows the night I said goodbye, to the world I know.

So raise your chin and raise a glass, Sing, 'Heres to winning this, again and again!' Sing, 'I don't care what it costs!' Is this the look that sells the skin? I faced the names, we lose again, and again. Sing, 'I don't care what it costs!'

You can dye your hair tonight, another way. To match the color of the ground, that I am buried in. I was reading all your magazines, I had something, until you turned from me.

So raise your chin and raise a glass Sing, 'Heres to winning this, again and again!' Sing, 'I don't care what it costs!' Is this the look that sells the skin? I faced the names, we lose, again and again. Sing, 'I don't care what it costs!'

Will you hang me from you? I might as well just because... God knows, I have not been moving, for three days now. Sing, 'I don't care what it costs!'

So raise your chin, and raise a glass. Sing, 'Heres to winning this, again and again!' Sing 'I don't care what it costs!' Is this the look that sells the skin? I faced the names, we lose, again and again. Sing 'I don't care what it costs!'.

Some lyrical corrections from the booklet: 2nd part of the chorus: "Is this the look that sells the skin? Are these the names we lose again and again Sing I don't care what it costs"

2nd verse: "I was reading all your magazines, I had something Until you took it from me"

and the 3rd verse: "Will you hang me from your wall? You might as well, just because"

And as far as the meaning goes: It's about rampant commercialism. The BUY BUY BUY stuff attitude a lot of people have, without caring about what they're losing to get it. Matisyn doesn't like that. The chorus is pretty much saying cheers to not giving a shit about what you're selling. The "I don't care what it costs" line in the chorus comes off very sarcastically, like he's saying I don't care how much it costs, I don't want it anyway. The title kinda helps to give it away too, Cadillacs being pretty expensive luxury cars. What a kickass song too.

This is an awesome song--one of their best. As for the meaning, the one that occured to me the first time I heard it was jc6md's explanation.

This song is about how people at record companies treat musicians like shit even though without them, they wouldn't have a job. They also get to live in more luxury then the musicians. Also how they tell the musicians how they should dress and how they should look.
