I Can Do This On An Island Lyrics
i'll carry your head away
caught in some stereo deep blue nothing
aquatic symphony waiting
waiting in the wake of
ocean parachutes
chasing me in a one man submarine

Hopesfall's lyrics, in my opinion, have kind of stopped being meaningful with the release of each album. But...Jay still manages to sing the lyrics really well in this song...there's something really elusive about his voice...it's haunting and profound. Definitely one of my favorite songs off of the new album.
I have to agree with the previous post. The older songs definatly are deeper than the more recent ones. This one, I feel is one of their deepest songs on the album, although to me it doesnt make much sense.
it does make sense in relation to the previous song "cubic zirconias are forever". both the lyrics and the melody extend the concept from that song.
it might not really mean anything but this song is awesome. Just has a good feeling to it, dunno
IMO hopesfall haven't made a meaningful album since The Satellite Years.
after it was released, they kicked out ryan parrish, who wrote the lyrics (and it could be theorized, a lot of the music)
Jay can't carry the band on, and i'm glad they retired the name.
