Animal Zoo Lyrics
Living in the city, I've been abused
The jobs I keep, the people I meet
Don't do more than make me amused
Everywhere I turn now, just more bad news
So don't look now and don't ask how
We're gonna find our way back to the Animal Zoo
Oh no, something went wrong
Well you're much too fat and a little too long
Hey hey, you got too much to lose
Gotta find your way back to the Animal Zoo
Looking at my body, I'm slipping down
The air I breathe, the water I drink
Is selling me short and turning me round
Everyone I see now on their way too
So don't look now and don't ask how
We're gonna find our way back to the Animal Zoo
Oh no, something went wrong
Well you're much too fat and a little too long
Hey hey, you got too much to lose
Gotta find your way back to the Animal Zoo
The jobs I keep, the people I meet
Don't do more than make me amused
Everywhere I turn now, just more bad news
So don't look now and don't ask how
We're gonna find our way back to the Animal Zoo
Well you're much too fat and a little too long
Hey hey, you got too much to lose
Gotta find your way back to the Animal Zoo
The air I breathe, the water I drink
Is selling me short and turning me round
Everyone I see now on their way too
So don't look now and don't ask how
We're gonna find our way back to the Animal Zoo
Well you're much too fat and a little too long
Hey hey, you got too much to lose
Gotta find your way back to the Animal Zoo

The first time I heard this song I thought it was about ugly women- "Better get your ass to the Animal Zoo!" But now, looking at the lyrics, that interpretation breaks down. I guess it's really about disgust with modern society, and a desire to get back to simpler times. Kind of like the Kink's Apeman.
This song is one of my favorites. Leaving the crazy rat race behind and getting back to basics.
Much too fat and a little too long' could only refer to a joint. This is, after all, Spirit.
