Ice Cold Cube Lyrics
Brother fire I got to verse with you
I just ran into this ice cold cube
Thought its ways could freeze me out
So I left it melting there no doubt hey
I suggest you think again my friend
Love is a circle with no end
A message given heaven sent
I've seen you cause your own descent (hey)
I smell a fox all alone at night
Ten thousand footsteps out of sight
I turned your darkness into light
Get down she'll blind you
Get down, she'll hypnotise you
She'll see clean right inside your plan
And turn to say that ain't no man
Sister fire, I feel your glow
Walk on true cause they don't know
Sister ice I felt your chill
It must have been a bitter pill
I smell a fox all alone at night
Ten thousand footsteps out of sight
I turned your darkness into light
Get down she'll blind you
Get down, she'll hypnotise you
She'll see clean right inside your plan
And turn to say that ain't no man
I just ran into this ice cold cube
Thought its ways could freeze me out
So I left it melting there no doubt hey
I suggest you think again my friend
Love is a circle with no end
A message given heaven sent
I've seen you cause your own descent (hey)
Ten thousand footsteps out of sight
I turned your darkness into light
Get down she'll blind you
Get down, she'll hypnotise you
She'll see clean right inside your plan
And turn to say that ain't no man
Walk on true cause they don't know
Sister ice I felt your chill
It must have been a bitter pill
Ten thousand footsteps out of sight
I turned your darkness into light
Get down she'll blind you
Get down, she'll hypnotise you
She'll see clean right inside your plan
And turn to say that ain't no man

Ice Cold Cube was the last (post-Squire) Roses song. Ice Cold Cube was Reni's nickname for John Squire in the Roses days
This song was written about John Squire's personality and use of cocaine during the Second Coming era (and end) of the Roses Career. "I just ran into this ice cold cube Thought its ways could freeze me out" refers to the way in which John refused to speak to Ian or write songs with him anymore. The overall message of the song is that Squire left the roses to persue better things and further his career (creating Seahorses), leaving Ian behind, but Ians goin to carry on without him and determined to do better. In hindsight, the song makes more sense now than ever, as the Seahorses disbanded in 1999, and Browns career is still goin strong, with 5 studio albums, 1 remix album and 1 Greatest Hits album under his belt.
John Squire is the classic man who can't get past himself. You were wrong. The world knows you were wrong, you know you were wrong. Tell the boys you were, and beg them the chance to make you whole again..................
But either way Ian is unreal. Not sure why America can't grasp the genius, but it's not like he is the first one the US can't grasp.
