Thought Crime Spree

Here's my interpretation of the lyrics

"Increase the dose, diminish the high"

The more you take of something, the less it begins to appeal to you. The taste of something you enjoy very much begins to wear off when you've tasted it for the hundredth time.

"A smile is a pipe dream suffering aged like wine"

Foolish hope of ever being happy again, and things get worse with each passing day.

"Coughing up blood, with my mind on fire"

Physical pain, and emotional/mental pain.

"Juggling switchblades on a high tension wire"

To me it means a deathwish, or just the desire to inflict self-harm as a means to distract from the emotional agony.

"I don't have any scars, only dormant wounds that crack like fault lines"

Never truly got over the hurt, and when some emotional upheaval or disturbance occurs, all the pain that was pressed down comes flooding back at once.

"I only have five thoughts anymore and four of them are of you"

4 thoughts of the person who made him like this, and the last one is of death.

"Body bursts and leaks like a trash bag, into the gutter and the grave."

Suicide.

• 4. This song follows up from deathtripper which was a memory.This one is very similar to Jupiter`s eye. He describes his feeling again ,even plotting self-harm or suicide.Again the use of Rhyme and percussion drives the insanity feeling forward.This is progression towards an obscure outcome. "increase the dose diminish the high"

I don`t think he is talking about drugs here but his addiction of thinking to much of Her.

He refuses to be happy or maybe he cannot,but he knows the more he tries to do it the easier it will get,but he likes the feeling of self loathing to much.

"coughing up blood with my mind on fire juggling switchblades on a high tension wire"

Can this mean that his gambling with his life by using drugs or maybe he just lives his live like he doesn`t care if he dies.

"I don`t have any scars only dormant wounds that crack like fault lines"

He didn`t get any tissue damage in the 'Accident' but he has emotional trauma and they are evolving and getting worse.

"I only have five thoughts anymore and four of them are of you"

Again he cant stop thinking about her.It occupies his mind that it feels like it is on fire.The 5th one is an idea(obsession he has)I dont think its about suicide.Its an Idea to exhume her grave as you will see in the next song Cemetery road #5.Then some eerie laughter plays in the background personifying his descent into a dark place in his mind.Then he explains his idea ;

"body bursts and leak like a trash bag into the gutter and the grave"

This isnt suicide,he wants to exhume his lover grave ,put the rotting remains in a trash bag and through it in a place that contains water(watery grave).This can also resemble his exhaustion of plotting to long.
