The song's name itself is a reference to Aleister Crowley's poem Hymn to Pan:

Black flame is a concept shared by many forms of Satanism, although its exact meaning varies.

A pure reference to freedom and free will. He who sits in the dark is the bringer of light. Lucifer, light bringer, and he who sits in the dark. A reference to satanism, fits with the opening of a God in Man and in Nature.
Call him Satan...Call him Freedom.

this piece of art helped me through many nights. the last night I had my worst shroom trip ever but this music was a sign to the right direction kept me on my way to complete the ritual. the sick feeling wanted to take control of my thoughts but with this nature black metal experience, my mind was able to stand on the top of the sorrow. I cant find the right words for my memory, but perhaps we just should look up to the sign of this song. Only for one this song i highly respect Gaahl and Gorgoroth. This is meant to be unsheathed from the long-lasting terror's slavery of Christianity. When a man removes this satanic veil from his forehead he obtains, he reveals his nature pagan Freedom and a great Power of a free Man and free Will. So... "this Beauty - the sign of an Open Eye", your Third Eye if you want to call it so. So truly the creations of Gorgoroth is not connected anyhow with Christian's Satanism, cause satanism is only another fake of Christianity.
