firstly the almost hesitant sounding music at the beginning reflects the uncertain mood of the song...
then the baseline comes in and i think that this contradicts the beginning as it sort of harsh and confident
the music alone shows that basically the song is all about denial i think

its said in a really nonchalant way but "dnt get me wrong i know no pity" makes you think that the protagonist does actually care so he goes home on his own
