We took it as he is talking about a love letter. He realized that he didn't love all his past "loves" and truely loves this person, which makes it innocent. He signs it with a heart at the end.

In all his past relationships he is the one that got hurt. he knew he could trust the person he is writing about not to hurt him. Not to leave him.

We just kind of as the relationship he is in happened extremely fast. They fell in love extremely fast. Which is why he is saying "trust the speed" and perhaps they talked most or saw each other most at night for the "trust the night"
