Get In Line Lyrics

We've waited hours in the dark and cold
Why don't you call, has he done a runner?
You said you've been here once before
But i've got my doubts, have you got the money?

Some dodgy bloke in a blacked out car
Rolls down his window with a smile
Not many teeth i'm a little scared
Who cares make friends and we're singing

doodoodoo o-o-oh yeah-oh o-o-oh yeah-oh o-o-oh yeah-oh o-o-oh

I think you'll like the shoes tonight
It keeps me warm and level headed
Feels like i'm losing track of time
But i'm fine get in line and i'm singing

yeah-oh o-o-oh yeah-oh o-o-oh yeah-oh o-o-oh yeah-oh o-o-oh

and i'm singing on the stars and i'm singing on the sun
And i'm wasting all my time

yeah-oh o-o-oh yeah-oh o-o-oh yeah-oh o-o-oh yeah-oh o-o-oh

Is this about drugs? The whole mix feelings in the lyrics going from

"Some dogy bloke in a blacked out car, pulls down his window with a smile....I'm a little scared..."

Gives the impression he is up to no good but then he goes on to,

"Who cares, make friends and we're singing yeah"

As if to say its worth it cos youll get your kicks from it. I defintely think the song is about something that he shouldnt be doing!

I agree with madamehelga, i used to think it was about nights out on the town? Mainly because my band has a song like that with similar lyrics. You can hear us at www.myspace.com/thephettz if your interested, oh and its called "Can't Stop Her"

Just started to listen to these guys and I love There sound, so I decided to make my first post ever. Here is my take It is a combo of adamski and Madamehelgar.

We've waited hours in the dark and cold Why don't you call, has he done a runner? You said you've been here once before But i've got my doubts, have you got the money?

-"runner" is another word for a guy going on a drug run. so they have been waiting waiting for the drugs.

Some dodgy bloke in a blacked out car Rolls down his window with a smile Not many teeth i'm a little scared Who cares make friends and we're singing

-self explanatory the runner showed up, and he is saying w/e lets get messed up, and make friends.

I think you'll like the shoes tonight It keeps me warm and level headed Feels like i'm losing track of time But i'm fine get in line and i'm singing

-"shoes" is another word for girls, kinda ditsy girls. So it will keep him level headed, from the drugs so he doesn't mess up with the shoes.

This song is basically getting drugs for a night out. They are messed up wasting time, and pretty care free about it. singing there time away and having a good time.

I'm pretty sure the lines "I think you'll like the shoes tonight" are supposed to be "I think you'll like the sheets tonight" D:

This is clearly about drugs. When he refers to "has he done a runner" he is actually saying has he left before completing the transaction. And the line is definitely "i think we'll light the sheesh tonight" which is a reference to a Shisha Pipe. These are big water filled pipes that people smoke shisha (flavoured tobacco) from. It is seen as a very relaxing experience and literally keeps him warm and level headed. Simple.
