Who I Am Lyrics
Doro: You hypnotize me!
Floor: I do not dare to look
You mesmerize me!
Don't even dare to feel
I want to have it just to prove I can take control
I want to have it just to show them I won't be fooled
I'll take it
I'll break it
Or force it just to let them know who I am
Who I am
I should wait and think it over
I don't want to push, that is not who I am
Who I am
I'll softly touch this
I'll fire up this flame
I'll hold on gently
It's time to lead the game
I want to have it just to prove I can take control
I want to have it just to show them I won't be fooled
I'll take it
I'll break it
Or force it just to let them know who I am
Who I am
I should wait and think it over
I don't want to push, that's not who I am
Who I am
I want to have it!
I want to break it and take it, or force it just to let them know who I am
Who I am
I should wait and think it over
I don't want to push, oh no, that's not who I am

I think this song is about two women exploring homosexuality. Doro plays the woman who wants a lesbian lover just to gain attention. She wants to 'prove' to people that she doesn't care what they think of her.
"I want to have it just to prove I can take control."
Floor plays the lover who has genuine, subdued feelings for the same sex but wants to be sure about the relationship before she rushes into things.
"I should wait and think it over... I don't want to push."
I think they are both playing pretend for attention, but one is more willing than the other, since at the end Floor say she doesn't want to push because that's not who she is.
To me this wasn't about homosexuality. It was more about a dual personality, or it could be about a lot women's struggles with anger. When we're angry and want to take control people think of us as bitches and dont' take us seriously. When we're sweet and subdued we rarely get what we want because we're thought of as weak and easily taken advantage of.
Same thing wtih sexuality in general. If a woman persues men openly and vervently, she is thought in of as a slut or a whore. When she is sweet and subdued she rarely gets what she wants a man. When floor sings you hear sort of a middle eastern style of music, and in the middle east women are very submissive and are forced into submission.
But for all I know it could just be about lesbians :P
