Hey Rebekah Lyrics
Well, hey Rebekah, it's not only in your mind.
But it takes something unusual to make it happen.
The other night I had the strangest dream,
I woke up under the spotlight where you should be.
It's so hard to shake the thought of it still,
Lasting impression on my windowsill.
It's hard to explain but I'd like to my friend
When you live in a house but you sleep in a van
And you realize one day, seasons have changed
Since you've last seen home.
Breathe in, breathe out,
Know that you're alive.
Breathe in, breathe out,
Know that you're alive
Well, hey Rebekah, it's not only in your mind.
But it takes something unusual to make it happen.
When we make ourselves work overtime,
That's when fate will find you dear
And remind you that it never is too late.
Story goes I lay in revery
I woke up under the spotlight where you should be.
It's so hard to shake the thought of it still,
Lasting impression on my windowsill.
It's hard to explain but I'd like to my friend.
When you live in a house but you sleep in a van.
And you realize one day the choices you've made
Have taken you where you don't wanna go.
Breathe in, breathe out.
Know that you're alive.
Breathe in, breathe out.
Know that you're alive.
Well, hey Rebekah, it's not only in your mind
But it takes something unusual to make it happen.
When we make ourselves work overtime,
That's when fate will find you dear,
And your heart will be reminded that it's not too late.
You know it never is too late.
As long as you are breathing, honey.
Breathe in, breathe out,
Know that you're alive.
Breathe in, breathe out,
Know that you're alive.
Breathe in, breathe out,
Know that you're alive.
Breathe in, breathe out,
Know that you're alive.

Beautiful.
I agree with Wishing For You. Completely Beautiful. It's the only word to explain it...
Also... this is my favorite song from the new album. By far.
It's got the "Hey There Delilah" effect.
Maybe in a few years, MTV will catch hold of this song and play it 24/7 for all the little kiddies to obsess over.
Not sure if that's good or bad though...
I adore this song. It's got such a personal meaning to it, but I applied it to a guy I knew and encouraged, though he was older than me. For me, it's, "you live in a house, but you sleep in a van" = "you've got so much potential, but you don't use it and settle for something less valuable". Also, one of my favorite quotes of all time is "You know it never is too late as long as you are breathing, honey." Sigh. Absolutely true.
One more thing... I love the drawn out "windowsill"...so dreamy.
omg this song makes me so sad whenever i listen to it... at one of their concerts i went to daniel said that he wrote it for his big sister. like he feels like he's overshadowing her but he always looked up to her...
"It's hard to explain what it's like to a friend"
as well as the second time he sings "I WAKE up under the spotlight.."
Ok, I see... but it still doesn't make sense to me.

Why on earth would anybody choose to sleep in their van when they live in a house? Either you live in your van, or you don't... I really, really want to like this song, because it's catchy... but the lyrics just seem very unpoetic and corny to me... I wish they'd thought it out just a LITTLE better. Somebody enlighten me, please!

Whoa... I'm glad you guys are touched, but these lyrics are still totally confusing to me... Look at this line with me..
"when you live in a house, but you sleep in a van"
My question is, if somebody lives in a house, why do they sleep in a van? Why don't they just sleep in their house?
And question number 2, what's the song about? I had a hard time liking this one, just because it's really hard to figure out.
