Imperial Bodybags Lyrics

Imperial body bags
Coming home in dribs and drabs
Life as numbers, with doggy tags
Filled with holes they're coming back

So come out of the sky
Never had a chance to wave goodbye
Thrown away and unhappy
Driven by hypocrisy

Nothing's finished it just fades away
Like a lover who has lost her faith
Nothing's finished it just fades away
Fades away

Imperial body bags
Prom queen disposable
Children wrapped in home made flags

Imperial body bags
Prom queen disposable
Children wrapped in home made flags

And yeah we loved our kids
We're still human like everyone else
Average withdrawn, stuck in school
Always willing to stick by the rules

Nothing's finished it just fades away
Like a lover who has lost her faith
Nothing's finished it just fades away
Fades away (it fades away)

Imperial body bags
Prom queen disposable
Children wrapped in home made flags

Imperial body bags
Prom queen disposable
Children wrapped in home made flags

Imperial body bags
Prom queen disposable
Children wrapped in home made flags

Imperial body bags
Prom queen disposable
Children wrapped in home made flags

best song off send away the tigers, the title almost gives away the meaning to it a bit. the war in ira is the theme of the song.

correct lyric

"from queen's disposable children"

I don't think the above is correct. The Manics website states that the song is about Americans (and also the Russian royal family in the Bolshevik revolution). I'd say that "prom queens disposable" should be written as "prom queens' disposable". Meaning that the prejudiced American prom king is a disposable object in the war.

if you have a looksie in the inside of the album, its written as "prom queenS disposable" and im assuming that means that the lines are joined so that it is inface "prom queens disposable children wrapped in home made flags"

as for the meaning of that part, there are several i can think of but none seem conclusive

I suspect the "prom queen disposable children" lyric is to mean that people die in such wars and they must be deemed disposable - like an unwanted, alcohol induced prom queen's child. Can't see many other ways for it to be relevant...

I think the above is incorrect, to my beliefs this line should indeed be "Prom queen disposable". And then read as "he who belongs to the prom queen but can be missed" as a sarcastic prejudice about Americans.
