Venus Lyrics
Come my little venus
Can't you feel, its in all of us
Like the light, we see you soon give up yourself
And dive into the moon
And I don't mind being with you, knowing I'm by myself
There's a river in all of us, it's dry
As you are in me
There's a river in all of us, it's dry
As you are in me
Come my little venus
Wrapped in shadows, yeah you're one of us
I hear the footsteps inside your head
Walking, trying to find yourself
I found myself in you
Let me in, let me breathe, yeah
I found myself in you
Oh you
So come my little venus
Come my little venus
Well come my little venus
Come my little venus
You scream in silence
But I can hear you
You scream in silence
But I can hear you
You scream in silence
But I can hear you
Come my little venus
Can't you feel, it's in all of us
Like the light, we see you soon give up ourselves
And dive into your room
And dive into your room
Come my little venus
Come my little venus
Can't you feel, can't you feel, oh now you're one of us
Like the light, we'll see you soon give up ourselves
And dive into your room
I don't mind, I dont mind
Come my little venus
Can't you feel, its in all of us
Like the light, we see you soon give up yourself
And dive into the moon
And I don't mind being with you, knowing I'm by myself
There's a river in all of us, it's dry
As you are in me
There's a river in all of us, it's dry
As you are in me
Wrapped in shadows, yeah you're one of us
I hear the footsteps inside your head
Walking, trying to find yourself
I found myself in you
Let me in, let me breathe, yeah
I found myself in you
Oh you
Come my little venus
Well come my little venus
Come my little venus
But I can hear you
You scream in silence
But I can hear you
You scream in silence
But I can hear you
Can't you feel, it's in all of us
Like the light, we see you soon give up ourselves
And dive into your room
And dive into your room
Can't you feel, can't you feel, oh now you're one of us
Like the light, we'll see you soon give up ourselves
And dive into your room
I don't mind, I dont mind

The soft guitar at the beginning of the song sends shivers up my spine...it's such a simple, beautiful song. I love it.
No ideas what it's about.... but it's still brilliant!
Great, slow song not sure on what its about though.
At first I thought this may have been a love song kinda along the lines of unrequited love and searching for the answers and the right path to take etc. After looking and listening to it I've decided it could be anything and only the writer will know lol.......One idea I did come up with though was maybe it was about A father or husband singing to his daughter or wife (actually, now i think about it maybe a sister) who is struggling with who she is and is going out of their mind trying to find themselves and inner peace and completely not understanding whats happenning to them. Maybe they are suffering from depression?
Any way thats my thoughts on this song.........
Venus is the goddess of love and sexuality. with that in mind, it seems obvious to me this song is about the female orgasm.
This song is about sex
I think the meaning of the song may be lost seeing as it is sung by an all-male band. Too me the lyrics fit very well as being written from the perspective of a woman who is expecting a girl, considers an abortion, then reconsiders.
Why it think this is: "Come my little venus" Waiting for a small venus, ei little female "You are in me." the girl she is waiting for is literally inside of her. "wrapped in shadows, yeah you're one of us" acknowledging the humanity of the child. the unborn is literally wrapped in shadows "Let me in, let me breathe" from the perspective of the unborn "You scream in silence but I can hear you." this is a pretty freaky line, but babies who are aborted actually scream (in silence) as they are being terminated. "but I can hear you" seems like a the mother resonating with the humanity of her child and resconsidering As "like the light, well see you soon" echos the choice to keep the baby. Other lyrics thrown in as artists do to obfuscate/add texture/interest
It seams to be a song centered on the themes of acceptance from other "yeah you're one of us". It seems the narrator is saying this to this particular character to remind them that it's okay to feel emotion "can't you feel, it's in all of us?". This implies that the character that the song is centered around is going through some sort of tough time, perhaps loneliness "wrapped in shadows". The narrator relates to this "I found myself in you" trying to show that despite feeling lonely they are not the only one, and perhaps should find comfort in that.
It also could be about going to heaven
