La-la-la-la-la
La la la
La-la-la-la-la
Come on, come on
Come on, come on
Make yourself free, make yourself grow
Come on up into the attic - come and see the glow
A pretty idiot is kissing everyone she doesn't know
And the pigs are eating popcorn, selling tickets to the show.
Give yourself away, feel the wind blow
We're watching movies on the ceiling, all the artists we know
If there's someone you don't like you don't have to say hello
There's no reason you should leave
There's no reason you should go
La la la la
La-la-la-la-la
La la la
La-la-la-la-la
La la la
La-la-la-la-la
Come on, come on
Come on, come on
Take yourself out, hit the tambourine
We have loaded up your eyes and fed you tangerines
If you open up your box you will find a time machine
If you try to find a scratch there'll be no signs of where you have been.
Give yourself up, make yourself sing
Don't tell us that you can't -
You need a sampling?
Da da da da-da-da-da-da

i love this song!! it's so relaxing and happy. the lyrics are so cool too.
this song i think is about tripping, and hanging out with friends, and just having a good time
i agree with iamchapelle. that's really all it's about. omg this is my favorite band now...
I interpt that the song has to do with childhood, back when you were able to imagine just about anything. In the line "if theres someone you don't like you don't have to say hello" kind of refers to when everything was simpler. Little kids live in there own little world and don't care what other people think of them, before hormones kick in and someone not liking you "ruins your life". But eventually child hood is spoiled as you grow older and your eyes are opened to the harshness of the world. "theres no reason you should leave theres no reason you should go" is about leaving your child hood behind the once you leave its gone forever.
precisely what i was gonna say! i think this is mostly supported by 1. all of this occuring in an attic (a.k.a. random place in the house where anyone else would be creeped out/bored), and 2. the pigs are eating popcorn and selling tickets. Grade A child's imagination right there.

cute song. kinda reminds me of Ghost of Corporate Future by Regina Spektor- both urge listeners to unwind, be carefree, and be themselves. No matter who's watching.

Hey there peeps, i fell in love with the Bird and the Bee so much during last few weeks! I will now make an attempt to write my interpretation and also general thoughts that are coming to me when listening and thinking about this track.
"Make yourself free, make yourself grow"
My favourite most universal quote from this track that is the core of the meaning of it for me. As it's about childhood and/or being free in my opinion. Doing what you want, growing, learning, living....
"Pretty Adiel kissing everyone she doesn't know" "If there's someone you don't like you don't have to say hello"
....Without putting any limits to yourself OR without forcing yourself to do anything you wouldn't really want to do. Just being your true alive self. Most of the children before they "grow up" - they are this way and i always find it very beautiful and inspiring. But the most inspiring thing is to see such child still being alive in adults.
"Give yourself away, feel the wind blow"
And to say more - it's about being free in every little moment of NOW. As being alive and being free is always about the moment of now. Without thinking about the past or the future. Without actually much thinking. Just going on with the flow, with the winds blow. Going where the curiosity takes you, being inspired by that wind of now. And the wind is movement - and movement is life. Give yourself away, feel the life blow through you.
"There's no reason you should leave, there's no reason you should go"
I understand it this way - when you live by the present moment, going there where your wind of life caries you - there is actually not much room for a reason at all. For any reasoning. If you feel you want to go - you go. If you feel you want to stay - you stay. No fighting, no overthinking, just being connected with what you feel at your very present moment, at each of your present moments. As life is one big chain of present moments.
And last thing i wanted to quote:
"Give yourself up, make yourself seen Don't tell us that you can't believe is sampling"
Nooooo, i can't believe those are official lyrics. ;) Really anyone else doesn't hear it as:
"Give yourself up, make yourself SING Don't tell us that you can't, really, a simple thing La, la, la"
For me its much more connected with the song this way and i will always hear it this way! Ha! This song with its lyrics and music feeling is both magical and mystical for me. (as well as some of my childhood memories when i think of it).
It provokes you to be free, live and sing! Becouse everyone can do that!
