Giving You Reasons Lyrics

I picture you in red
A smile that I know i'll never forget
Yours a life flying by
From outside I see you're lonely inside

I'm sorry long days came
I'm sorry you're not quite the same
And I'll take all my reasons home again
You'll have a reason
I'm giving you reasons again

There are times i'll admit
The seams of a life are tearing a bit
But thats all relative
When all that you know oh, it sums up to this

I'm sorry long days came
I'm sorry you're not quite the same
And I'll take all my reasons home again
You'll have a reason
I'm giving you reasons

A year from now, don't count me out
If I see you in a crowd.
It's like i'm already there cause I feel it somehow
I'm used to you there, so get used to me now

Sorry long days came
I'm sorry your not quite the same
And I'll take all my reasons home again
You'll have a reason
I'm giving you reasons again.

Easily, my favorite song of his. I hope that someday it ends up on one of his major label albums. The world NEEDS this song.

Per Jon, the song was written when he learned that a friend of his was considering committing suicide. Yes, all of his songs are beautiful, but this song is about reaching out to a friend in need, and giving them reasons not to do something out of desperation.
