Wild Hope Lyrics

In a crazy world
Anything can happen if you will it to
Just a hazy girl
Blurring all the edges only seeing blue

Its a Wild Hope
A Wild Hope
A Wild Hope
Everything will be alright

Lost inside
A painting of the city on a hotel wall
Days go by
Wasting golden hours in the fall

Its a Wild Hope
A Wild Hope
A Wild Hope
Everything will be alright

I catch a glimpse of our reflection
Beside you I see myself
We are the seasons new collection
We look like everybody else

Walk along through the crowded streets
Into the fading gray
Here i'm gone
Like a decleration for the holiday

Its a Wild Hope
A Wild Hope
A Wild Hope
Everything will be alright

Everything will be alright
Everything will be alright

I'm not sure if it's uplifting. I think "wild hope" is kind of like "wildest dreams". Your wildest dreams are things that are relatively unbelievable - it could happen, but it probably won't.

I think this is a song about blurring into the background and not feeling noticed. It gives me the impression of being lost and alone, and incredibly unhappy. Whilst wanting everything to be alright, I don't think she really believes it will be, and she's drifting through the seasons feeling empty. I imagine she wrote this when in the midst of her depression, or when invoking memories of it. Terribly sad.

I always think of a cold fall day when I hear this song...orange leaves on the street...slightly rainy...and just feeling melancholy in general.
