when heard this live
earlier this year , i went to the show and i was expecting a bunch of their old stuff but this song really caught my attention
but he said nah-nah-nah-da-da istead of bah
Seems like the narrator cheated on his girlfriend and is sorta explaining his reasoning behind that. He is being honest about it because he knows that it will come back to her eventually.
He of course feels guilty and regretful and is letting her know it was a mistake, it meant nothing and he will never do it again.
[a lot of times we are stupid and we do stupid things and after the fact we are like 'what the f* was i thinking?' Then we promise ourselves we will never do it again because we have learned our lesson- this is what the song is about i think]

I love this song and especially this line... how true is that? Is it not the most painful experience of all to realize that you love someone--your life is their life, your lives are the same life--and you really can't walk away, even if you want to?

"Guess you learned your lesson not to starve a poor boy"....is he saying he cheated on her cause she wasn't giving him action? or was she ignoring him? if it was for action then Lame. Especially since he says they have an "eternal love" or that he'd be " hers forever just tell me when to start". sounds like a jerk i'd leave too if i was the girl.
