I-540 Lyrics
We got a lot to learn but we’re a whole lot farther a long than where we’ve been before.
And we’re all put together by the hands of God.
But it was you, the piece He used, to keep me from falling apart.
And the truth of it is that we are still just kids.
But we’ll tear the world wide open.
I drove all night; the darkness could not keep me all alone.
You’re sleeping tight but the morning sun and the streets say I’m almost home.
And the truth of it is that we are still just kids.
But we’ll tear the world wide open.
And the truth of it is that we are still just kids.
But we’ll tear the world wide open.
We keep moving forward till we’ve gone too far.
But we left our hearts way back in Arkansas.
And on the phone saying what, oh what is wrong baby.
Oh what, oh what is wrong baby oh yeah

A love song, also thanking God for using his significant other to build him up.
After doing some research, I've found that the title could possibly mean Interstate 540, which runs through Arkansas, which is where the band is from. Maybe it holds special meaning for them or something.
I flipping love this song. My favorite part is the end! I agree with theonethatis. This is such an awesome song. "And we’re all put together by the hands of God. But it was you, the piece He used, to keep me from falling apart." that's how I feel for my boyfriend. ahhh
okay yes I-540 is an interstate that runs through Fayetteville, Arkansas where i just so happen to live a few miles away from so that is MOST LIKELY the reason for the name and the reference to Arkansas in the song, i see that its about a guy in love with a girl and how he is thankful she is with him and how the world says it can't be true because they are still just kids.
WOOT. goooo arkansas. I live there. and drive on I-540 every day. :DDDDDDDD yeah, this is about the [ex]lead singers wife. :/
i love this song... it's about his wife(the singer at the time) It's a really sweet song... I like how he's able to sing about God AND his wife... there are some "christian" bands who sing about nothing but their girlfriends or ex-girlfriends.... Then there are some bands that never loosen up and sing the same message in every song... The Wedding has the perfect balance...
