I think this sond is about a girl who starts a relationship, and as soon as it gets too serious she drops it,without explanation or warning. And they're just saying "It's sad you're so scared to take a chance on this, don't feel bad, I'm good and I've got your number."

Oh man, my american heart ismy fav. andthis song is really just a lyrical bitch slap. haha its directed at one of the original guitarists (jeremy mendez)who left the band causing a lot of drama.
basically jesse stole jeremy's girlfriend and he was pissed so he gave up on the band because he was afraid of change

ohh thats cool. i had no idea what this song was about. its funny in MAHs live journal (that jesse writes) he says that jeremy left the band with "no hard feelings" or something liek that...
According to wiki, it's about how the ex-band member stole money from the band, which led to him being kicked out. There's no reference on it though. But I can see how the song can be related to that.
