Yeah, here we go for the hundredth time
Hand grenade pins in every line
Throw 'em up and let something shine
Going out of my fucking mind

Filthy mouth, no excuse
Find a new place to hang this noose
String me up from atop these roofs
Knot it tight so I won't get loose

Truth is, you can stop and stare
Bled myself out and no one cares
Dug a trench out, laid down there
With a shovel up out of reach somewhere

Yeah, someone pour it in
Make it a dirt dance floor again
Say your prayers and stomp it out
When they bring that chorus in

I bleed it out
Digging deeper just to throw it away
I bleed it out
Digging deeper just to throw it away
I bleed it out
Digging deeper just to throw it away
Just to throw it away
Just to throw it away

I bleed it out
Go, stop the show
Choppy words in a sloppy flow
Shotgun opera, lock and load

Cock it back and then watch it go
Mama, help me, I've been cursed
Death is rolling in every verse
Candy paint on his brand new hearse

Can't contain him
He knows he works
Fuck, this hurts, I won't lie
Doesn't matter how hard I try
Half the words don't mean a thing

And I know that I won't be satisfied
So why try ignoring him?
Make it a dirt dance floor again
Say your prayers and stomp it out
When they bring that chorus in

I bleed it out
Digging deeper just to throw it away
I bleed it out
Digging deeper just to throw it away
I bleed it out
Digging deeper just to throw it away
Just to throw it away
Just to throw it away

I bleed it out
I've opened up these scars
I'll make you face this
I've pulled myself so far
I'll make you face this now

I bleed it out
Digging deeper just to throw it away
I bleed it out
Digging deeper just to throw it away
I bleed it out
Digging deeper just to throw it away
Just to throw it away
Just to throw it away

I bleed it out
Digging deeper just to throw it away
I bleed it out
Digging deeper just to throw it away
I bleed it out
Digging deeper just to throw it away
Just to throw it away
Just to throw it away

I bleed it out
I bleed it out
I bleed it out

here\'s an essay that I wrote about this song last year\n\n\nBleed It Out: emergency or emerging victorious?\n“YEAH, HERE WE GO FOR THE 100TH TIME, HAND GRENADE PINS IN EVERY LINE, THROW ‘EM UP AND LET\nSOMETHIN’ SHINE, GOIN’ OUT OF MY FUCKIN’ MIND, FILTHY MOUTH, NO EXCUSE, FIND A NEW PLACE TO\nHANG THIS NOOSE, STRING ME UP FROM ATOP THESE ROOFS, KNOT IT TIGHT SO I WON’T GET LOOSE,\nTRUTH IS YOU CAN STOP AND STARE, BLED MYSELF OUT AND NO ONE CARES, DUG A TRENCH OUT AND\nLAID DOWN THERE, WITH A SHOVEL UP OUT OF REACH SOMEWHERE, YEAH, SOMEONE POUR IT IN,\nMAKE IT A DIRT DANCE FLOOR AGAIN, SAY YOUR PRAYERS AND STOMP IT OUT WHEN THEY BRING THAT\nCHORUS IN…”\nBleed It Out is an angry and fight worthy song. The theme of the song is never back down in the\nface of an adversary. In the bridge of the song, the lyrics are, “I’ve opened up these scars!! I’ll\nmake you face this!! I pull myself so far!! I’ll make you face this now!!” It says that, no matter\nwhat someone says about you, you will rise up and face the adversary.\nBleed It Out is an inspiring song, despite the fact that the lyrics are of paranoia and despair.\nRising up to face an adversary isn’t always easy, but it can be done, no matter what others say.\nTo quote Chester Bennington (1976-2017), the lead singer of Linkin Park, “Just persevere,\nbelieve in yourselves, and one day you could be up here with us. Or Metallica. Or Limp Bizkit.\nDeftones, Mudvayne.”\nThe song starts with an aggressive guitar riff before Mike Shinoda jumps in with his aggressive\nrapping, “YEAH, HERE WE GO FOR THE 100TH TIME, HAND GRENADE PINS IN EVERY LINE, THROW ‘EM\nUP AND LET SOMETHIN’ SHINE, GOIN’ OUT OF MY FUCKIN’ MIND, FILTHY MOUTH, NO EXCUSE, FIND A\nNEW PLACE TO HANG THIS NOOSE, STRING ME UP FROM ATOP THESE ROOFS, KNOT IT TIGHT SO I\nWON’T GET LOOSE, TRUTH IS YOU CAN STOP AND STARE, BLED MYSELF OUT AND NO ONE CARES, DUG\nA TRENCH OUT AND LAID DOWN THERE, WITH A SHOVEL UP OUT OF REACH SOMEWHERE, YEAH,\nSOMEONE POUR IT IN, MAKE IT A DIRT DANCE FLOOR AGAIN, SAY YOUR PRAYERS AND STOMP IT OUT\nWHEN THEY BRING THAT CHORUS IN…” In a nutshell, this says, say whatever you want to. If no one\ncares that I gave my life, so be it.\nLiterary devices include rhyme, rhythm, and imagery, among others. This is why Bleed It Out is\nan amazing song. True strength comes from what\'s within, not what you look like. Even if no one\ncares about the sacrifices you’ve made, keep fighting and sacrificing. Mike raps in the song,\n“BLED MYSELF OUT AND NO ONE CARES…” It’s like saying that no one cares about the sacrifices\nI’ve made, but that won’t stop me.\nBleed It Out. Fight worthy? Yes. Angry? Without a doubt. Inspiring? You better believe it. Keep\nfighting and sacrificing, even if you’ve “Bled yourself out and no one cares.” The theme of the\nsong is never back down in the face of an adversary. Times will be tough, but so are you.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer

In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
