Pay You Back With Interest Lyrics

Too many people need me
I've got so much, so much to do
But when my traveling is over
I'll pay you back with interest
I'll pay you back with interest

It seems unfair to leave you
And sell myself the way I do
But when my wandering is over
I'll pay you back with interest
I'll pay you back with interest

Most of my life I've been moving
And when I tire out I'll come home to you
But until then I'll be waiting
I'll pay you back with interest
I'll pay you back with interest

How cold is my room
(How cold is my room)
Without your love beside me
We look at the same old moon
(Looking at the moon)
But you're not here beside me
I'll pay you back with interest
I'll pay you back with interest

Too many people need me
I've got so much, So much to do
But when my traveling is over
I'll pay you back with interest
I'll pay you back with interest

The opening chords sound very modern. I don't know, maybe it was sampled or something, but I swear I've heard multiple songs from the last 10 years start with a similar sound. The rest of the song sounds very 60's though. As a whole, this is a terrific song from a band I had always known as just the people who sung "Long Cool Woman." I'm always pleased to find other songs from a band that create the same feeling as the song that got me into them in the first place did. Jeez that sentence reads horribly, but you get my point

Beautiful song about life on the road and missing one's loved one. Orchestral bells and Bobby Elliott's drums outro make this song for me, as well as the usual Clarke/Hicks/Nash vocal harmonies and the quavery (trippy?) piano intro.
