Hi. My son is the bass player for this band (Framing Hanley) so I just happen to know all about this song...lol. The story is a sad one. In October of 2006 , just months before the band got their big break, the drummer's girlfriend was killed. This song is about her, Ashley Hanley, and how much she is missed by Chris (drummer) and the rest of the band. They changed their name to honor her memory.

My brother and his girlfriend wentt o the concert and talked to the cousin of the drummer and its true it was this girl named Ashley Hanley and she got into a car accident. She used to take all the pictures for the band before she died and before they became a big band and got there break. So they changed there name to framing hanley (framing for the pictures she took) (hanley for her last name) and its saying how the band all miss her so much!
This is my absolute favorite song in the whole world. It has such meaning and every time I really listen to it and hear the lyrics I get tears in my eyes. The whole story behind it is tragic and although it has been about 3 years since Ashley died, every time I see a video of Nixon performing this he really does look sad. It had to be rough on him. And Chris too, exspecially Chris. :(

I can relate to this song. I lost the love of my life in a car accident in April. This is such a pretty but sad song. I too think god owes me a favor. I miss you mi amor ='(

this song is so beautiful and seeing nixon sing it is even more beautiful... like dduff said, its about ashley hanley and how much she is missed by the band because she was loved by not only her bf the drummer but the band as a whole... but it can be related to anyone who has lost someone close to them...
losing someone is never an easy thing especially when its so abruptly. life isn't the same without that person (waking up without you just doesn't seem right)and sometimes you can still feel them there with you (sometimes i think i can feel you breathing on my neck)... it gets really hard having to live without that person in your life and you fell like its never going to get any better for you (i've got the feeling this will never cease)... sometimes the only hope you feel that you have is that one day you will be with that person again...
i know that i personally connect very strongly to the line "tonight i'm screaming out to the stars, He knows He owes me a favor" because i have felt that way... and anyone who has lost someone close to them i'm sure can relate as well...
Wow I wasn't aware of the story behind this song. It's an amazing song though...it's just a great sad song. Pretty much everyone who has lost someone close to them can relate to this..I know I can. I've never seen this band live but, I would love to. I don't know how, if they even do, play this song live..but, I can guarantee that this song would be incredible live..all the passion that it would have. By the way love this band.
