the walk

we once went for a walk
but didn't know where we should go
we chose to take a rest and talk
that's when I told you I was so in love with you
you said "well I don't know"
and threw a look up at the sky
"should we go on or turn back home?"
I said "I'm cold" looked up and sighed and closed my eyes
and somewhere there I must have lost myself
so we went back the way we came
still it was dark and still so cold
but something didn't feel the same for me
like I was growing old with every step that I take
and silence's every noise that we make
I feel so numb but somehow it aches
I hope one day I'll just turn awake
yeah I hope one day the silence will break
so what am I still doing here?
am I still looking for a friend?
I tried denial guilt and fear
I tried to take it to an end
you asked "what have I done to you?"
I answered "nothing I was blind
well everything I tried to do was getting you out of my mind to keep my self control
it wouldn't work and in the end yeah I know
you would just fade and there was growing a hole"
and now it's slowly getting clear
with every look into your eyes
you're somewhere else
I'm still right here
and watch the oceans fall and rise again
it's like we once went for a walk
into a night too dark and black
it's like we once went for a walk
and I was never coming back
