Burning Bridges Lyrics

Friends all tried to warn me
But I held my head up high
All the time they warned me
But I only passed them by
They all tried to tell me
But I guess I didn't care
I turned my back and
Left them standing there

All the burning bridges that have fallen after me
All the lonely feelings and the burning memories
Everyone I left behind each time I closed the door
Burning bridges lost forevermore

Joey tried to help me find a job
A while ago
When I finally got it I didn't want to go
The party Mary gave for me
When I just walked away
Now there's nothing left for me to say

All the burning bridges that have fallen after me
All the lonely feelings and the burning memories
Everyone I left behind each time I closed the door
Burning bridges lost forevermore

Years have passed and I keep thinking
What a fool I've been
I look back into the past and
Think of way back then
I know that I lost everything I thought I that could win
I guess I should have listened to my friends

All the burning bridges that have fallen after me
All the lonely feelings and the burning memories
Everyone I left behind each time I closed the door
Burning bridges lost forevermore

Burning bridges lost forever

this is a great happy song but somehow makes me incredibly nostalgic. kelly's heroes is a great movie

You may think this is a happy song but it is not . This Burning Bridges song is a sad song of regret. The idea of this song - regretfulness - only comes to fruition after years of contemplation by the writer. " Years have passed and I keep thinking What a fool I've been " tells us of the deep hurt felt by the writer of this song; this song is very sad indeed.

Self-explanatory. Never burn your bridges when it comes to your family especially because they are always the ones there for you . one day you will reap what you sow. God I dated a guy but now I’m married, older than me and it just reminds me so much of what he did to his wife and kids it’s terrible. he’s the one who’s going to suffer I think he’s too dumb and stupid to see it I hate to say that but it’s true. Couldn’t be with a guy who did that to his family kind of seems like an evil person to me
