Red Lottery Lyrics

Gather round,
I've got dark tales to tell
Of a heretics dying plan
And the many stones that fell!

The lies are fed
In spectral evidence
Of a blasphemous covenant
That can only end in red!

Of a blasphemous covenant
That ends in red!

Names are read and then passed around,
Stones are piled and rocks are found,
The mob it sways in false camaraderie,
But someone dies in this red lottery.

The mob it sways in false camaraderie,
When someone dies in this red lottery!

Weightless they drown in the lake of fire,
Chained to the planks for they're evil crime.

Crushed under stones in they're blasphemy,
They paid the price in red lottery!

Gather round,
I've got dark tales to tell
Of a heretics dying plan
And the many stones that fell!

The lies are fed
In spectral evidence
Of a blasphemous covenant
That can only end in red!

Of a blasphemous covenant
That ends in red!

The vocalist probably got abused with rubber duckies as a child. Every member of this band had to be on some pretty hardcore shit when they played this song. Now that I know the lyrics, it's even creepier. Damn, I'm going to have the worst nightmare ever now. Thanks a lot, jerks.

The song was inspired by Shirley Jackson's short story, "The Lottery." It's about a small town with a lottery tradition in which someone picks the slip with the black dot and gets stoned to death.
