Taking Chances

this is my favorite song on the whole freakin ep and i cannot believe it has no comments! it's a great song and tft is fucking amazing.

i really am not 100% sure what its about, all i know is that it has to do with taking chances [: i came on here to see what you guys thought, lol.

Actually emma, its about NOT taking chances with the way the current situation is. ;p

I'm guessing its about a guy and a girl (or other way round, whatever floats your boat), they could be best friends, whatever, and the guy is advising the girl not to fall for another guy who is a complete tool. The girls friends are all telling her to give it a go, but above all, the guy remains skeptical about it all.

i actually hadn't thought about it that way.. i interpretted it as being about drugs or something.. like the friend is experimenting with drugs to get away from problems and he's trying to warn the friend.

but then again that's coming from a teenager's eyes so i guess i would see it in a different way.

I think it's about not making stupid mistakes. While it's usually a good thing to take chances, sometimes it's not worth the fall if you lose something valuable in the process. In the case of this song, I think the guy is warning a girl he's either friends with or in a relationship with not to take a chance on something that probably will only come back to bite her

I think this song is about a guy thinking about a girl that he used to like, but the relationship didn't work out and now he isn't going to fight for friendship- "i'm not competing with you". He knows it would be easy to forget about her and all her problems, but he still cares about her and doesn't want her to flood her mind with bad memories- "mind feeling trapped." He wants her to forget everything that went wrong and only remember the good things. He isn't going to fight with her, but knows she is better than than wasting her life away and she can move on.

i sgree with jaimie i also think its about drugs. especially the lines "dont take you chances with circumstances i know you're better than that" and "You traded all your memories to Appreciate it all without your mind just feeling trapped."

what i hate how even if the meaning is so obvious that its not about a girl or relationships someone always has to think about it in that way.

I think it is mainly about drugs. Taking chances with your life by doing the drugs, knowing better than that. You trap yourself away in a box when you use, trap your mind, and it keeps you from everything.

But in some ways, it could be about relationships, to some people. The best friend comment makes alot of sense and that is very possible, another one could be that there are 2 guys or girls than someone has to make a choice between and they know the right one is, the chance would be to keep debating, or to try the one who is the wrong choice.

this is a really good song..i love the singer (no homo). he's really amazing
