It could be about ages betrayal on the body, or a betrayal from another person and the effects on the body and mind. The person is shrugging it off whilst they realise that after a while they will only be able to share this betrayal as a story when the pain and feeling leaves them after time. It may seem like a trivial matter afterwards although at the time it wasn't.

Read multiple times that Julian Cope apparently used to do a lot of LSD in the days of Teardrop Explodes. Maybe it's about that? Is what you're seeing real, or your mind betraying you as an effect of the drugs?
