Sleep and Dream Lyrics
In a tiny little cave
A dog is sleeping on his back
Iron chains around his leg
But he's purring loud enough to snap
I see blood around his snout
A smile that's bigger than his mouth
They come to hurt him every day
To stomp him back into a crouch
They will never quite cut through
Cause he's got a little piece of you
The time gets longer every day
But he sits there smiling in his cave
They will never quite cut through
We've have a little piece of you
And all the spite you ever spate
Betrays your monument to fate
Fall asleep and dream
Salt in your skin
That leaves a small scar
It sits there in time
A red shiny star
Salt in your skin
That leaves a small scar
It sits there murdering time
A red shiny star
Shadow sweet in your bones
Helps to know what you said
The hand on your skin
Brings a war to your face
Fall asleep and dream now
Windows are made in your sighs
The piece you had hid to hide
The cave walls high in your mind
Fall asleep and dream now
Your heart is ready to die
Your jaws open wide
Windows are made in your mind
A dog is sleeping on his back
Iron chains around his leg
But he's purring loud enough to snap
I see blood around his snout
A smile that's bigger than his mouth
They come to hurt him every day
To stomp him back into a crouch
Cause he's got a little piece of you
The time gets longer every day
But he sits there smiling in his cave
We've have a little piece of you
Betrays your monument to fate
That leaves a small scar
It sits there in time
A red shiny star
That leaves a small scar
It sits there murdering time
A red shiny star
Helps to know what you said
The hand on your skin
Brings a war to your face
Windows are made in your sighs
The piece you had hid to hide
The cave walls high in your mind
Your heart is ready to die
Your jaws open wide
Windows are made in your mind

this is a well good song. pretty underrated tbh. i don't really know what it's about. seems very contradictary - good though =]
Its meant to be contradictory, its from the point of view of a dog which is being beaten by the lamb.. But obviously a dog watches over the lamb so its kind of meant to be the opposite, its taking on the metaphor of the complex relationship of a relationship where someone is being beaten and the other strikes back from when its too much. It basically goes over the morality of the situation and is quite powerful, the whole album is based on it. Each song applies.
I'm not quite sure what it means, but i find the song very sad. I feel SO bad for the poor dog! ANIMAL CRUELTY!!! anyways it's the first battle of the mice i heard, and i like the group but this song makes me cry and it upsetting
the whole album is a story based on a metophor, the lamb and the labrador, a relationship that someone is being abused
