The Streets, The Sounds, The Love Lyrics
Rise and fall how it suits you, like you want to
Backyard stares colored deep blue in a warm dew
Intoxicated in cause to effect how you won't be, now you can't breathe
You can't call on the rise to the fall just to warn you
I looked back on happenstance and I saw the rain fall
I sat down on broken plans and pride
You've given up
Stripped down to the typical
It goes on and on, it won't come back it's done
Rise and fall
Lay down on your back tonight
Sing softly hindered melodies
Intoxicated in cause to effect how you won't be, now you can't breathe
You can't call on the rise to the fall just to warn you
I looked back on happenstance and I saw the rain fall
I sat down on broken plans and pride
You've given up
Stripped down to the typical
It goes on and on, it won't come back it's done
You've given up
Loud songs shouting heavy thoughts
It goes on and on, you can't come back, it's gone
To never love somebody
To never see the stars from the ground
To never taste cold water
When it's all turned upside-down
To never love somebody
You never felt the chill of the air
To never taste cold water with regard to your affair
The streets, the sounds, the love.
Backyard stares colored deep blue in a warm dew
Intoxicated in cause to effect how you won't be, now you can't breathe
You can't call on the rise to the fall just to warn you
I sat down on broken plans and pride
You've given up
Stripped down to the typical
It goes on and on, it won't come back it's done
Lay down on your back tonight

this song is simply amazing. i didnt like it at first, but after the last time i saw them, its been one of my favs.
i havent completely figured out what its about, yet. but im working on it. it could be about an old relatioship, and how he's looking back on it and how he's realizing, and possibly accepting, that its over. but at the same time, he's saying 'its better to have loved and lost, then never loved at all'. something along those lines.
This song is basically amazing. It's the perfect last song on 'The Streets, The Sounds, and The Love'.
It's tricky to say what it might be about. I think that it may be about someone rejecting love, maybe they're afraid to love someone, because of getting hurt. And he's saying to that person, that it's okay, and that the hurt from a relationship just happens naturally. I have no idea, just a theory :)
I'm back! haha.. NEW THEORY. ;D it says "to never taste cold water." "to never love somebody" "to never see the stars from the ground" = all those things are nearly impossible NOT to do/see. So it's saying, try if you might to not love someone, but it just happens naturally. Which brings me back to my last post - they say they don't want to love anyone, but he's saying that it's just life to fall in love. ;D
i think its about abortion or maybe losing a child before its born. i think that makes more sense, doesnt sound like a love song. sounds like its about a child that never gets to see the light of day.
