7 Years Down Lyrics

There's a place where I like to go
When I got no food or I got no shelter
It's a house where I can get away
For maybe 3 days
To get off the drink and stay off the haze

Who's the opposition
I'm 7 years down
The human spirit prevails
Yeah I'm down down down

Woke up in the bushes 6:30 Tuesday morning
With a unopenned Heineken a head that was burning
For 7 years I walked the same path
Dreams of being loved was all I ever had

Who's the opposition I'm 7 years down
The human spirit prevails
Yeah I'm down down do

This is a great song about quitting drugs and drinking the 'whos the opposition' part referring to a struggle where the only enemy is yourself i think the seven years down thing is just like him sayin he been clean for 7 years... which is an incredible feat for a punk rocka

and that last chorus is somethin like

"????kids smoking crack and drinkin They Said I don't belong here, fuck you mohican They call me a faggot and they shove me out. But I don't give a fuck, I never did."

this is about tim's personal struggle with drugs/alcohol and the shelter he would go to to get clean

yeh thats right, is about tims drinkin problem

the lyrics are very literal. he followed the drug and drinking path for seven years, he had enough and went to live in a house for a couple days at a time to help him stay of the "drink and haze".

hey ska-face hmm I was pretty positive the lyric "they said you don't belong here, fuck you mohican" which was a reference to him having a mohawk let me insert something here

"MOHICAN: A hairstyle in which the entire scalp is shaved, save a strip of hair from the forehead to the neck. This is usually dyed and/or spiked up. also known as the mohawk "

but the meaning is pretty much what cranefist said

yeh i heard that too. didn't think neone else would notice that.

There's a mistake in the lyrics, it's actually "Dreams of being loved was all I ever had" not "A drinking beer mug was all I every had".
