Rain like a blanket was coming down
Drowning horizons in grey
Moments of hopelessness
Mingled with thoughts of the day
Search when I did, an umbrella was found
Yet no earthly shelter remained
Wind whipping droplets
like pinpricks in turbulent play
If the ocean trembles
If the sky must abide by it's faith
Why am I so different
To deny the life I've made
Half in humanity, half in a dream
Neither illusion will last
I keep forsaking the present
Along with the past
Somewhere between this umbrella and me
There in the question to ask
Can two feet of air
Stop the storm moving forward so fast
