Water and Headphones Lyrics

All I need
Is water and headphones
Those things are my staples
What I live and breathe

Life is just
So much more sensible
Measured in decibels
There's nothing to see

What you might call solitude
Is something I look forward to

You're lucky I have
This outlet of mine
Keeping me sane
'Cause after the fight
I really thought about killing you
I really thought about killing you

All I need
Is water and headphones
I'm being as literal
As I can be

That means you
Fall under optional
Another obstacle
In front of me

Today I'll buy something new
What's left to listen to?

You're lucky I have
This outlet of mine
Keeping me sane
'Cause after the fight
I really thought about killing you
I really thought about killing you

Who doesn't like The Ropes?! I'm shocked nobody has commented on their songs by now.

I believe this song is the old fashioned 'I'm getting over you by listening to one album over and over again until I forget what we were and how much I cared'.

Nothing too hard to decipher, nothing mysterious or hidden.

Short and sweet to the point. =]

"You fall under optional!" Hahahaha. What a great song.

I am loving this band right now.

This harks back to my teenage years for me, how listening to music was an outlet for all sorts of emotions - the one highlighted in the song as anger. Kind of saying you pissed me off so I went home, jumped in the bath and put some music on to calm me down and you are just lucky I can do that otherwise I might have kicked your teeth in.
