Then Came to Kill Lyrics
Fight, Priest, fight, take pictures
Make alright what you have lost
And give pride back to the ground
(Fight, Priest, take pictures)
You've got all you want
But all you've got is a wreck
Everyone in this whole wide world
Wake up and panic
Fortune wears a red dress
But her bones smell of death
They all stare but no one seeks
They all claim but no one speaks
They all hear what they want
Panic, Preacher
Beware of these sheep
In the costume of wolves
For lies, they come in pairs of two
And we only die twice
But for such a very long time
And just because you kiss
Don't mean you're in love
And just because you've begun
Don't mean you've won
I was a second son
Not born but just once
And all my friends be gray
The fade out
They all close the door
Because no one speaks out loud
The fade out
They're all fading out
We're all fading out
Take my heart, Prophet
Make alright what you have lost
And give pride back to the ground
(Fight, Priest, take pictures)
You've got all you want
But all you've got is a wreck
Wake up and panic
But her bones smell of death
They all claim but no one speaks
They all hear what they want
Panic, Preacher
In the costume of wolves
For lies, they come in pairs of two
And we only die twice
But for such a very long time
Don't mean you're in love
And just because you've begun
Don't mean you've won
Not born but just once
And all my friends be gray
The fade out
Because no one speaks out loud
The fade out
They're all fading out
We're all fading out

Hayley Williams is the lead singer of this cool band called Paramore.
Hayley Williams is in this song. :)
this one of the coolest collaborations yet!
i hate how people think that Josh Scogin much be some kind of anti emo person just because he screams like a monster in a metal-core band. And Hayley Williams must not like screamo or hardcore for that matter, because she sings in an emo-rock band. and I say "what ever!!"
whos hayley willuims? i mean i know her part in this song but what other songs does she do i thought that part was a guy with a high voice though... haha thx
I've Met Herr :P Like a few weeks ago.. The gig was awsome! :D
Hayley is a screamo/metal-core fan actually. She's into UnderOATH, As Cities Burn, etc and she's a fan of The Chariot's music too. :p
I must admit this song is somewhat confusing. I think the panic would be the realization that people will go to hell if they don’t do something about it. Beware of wolves in sheep’s clothing---can we say Bible verse? Not born just once---obviously he means being born again (a Christian.). The rest of this song, though, is rather confusing.
It ends with a cry out to Jesus - take my heart, prophet. I think the title might referr to revelation when they warned people "Then came to kill" the sinners on earth.
most of the titles from the album are from a poem:
One bright day in the middle of the night, Two dead boys got up to fight. Back-to-back they faced each other, Drew their swords, and shot each other. A deaf policeman heard the noise, Came and killed those two dead boys. If you don't believe this lie is true, Ask the blind man, because he saw it too.
i don't know what the poem is, or where it's from, but the songs are definitely named after this poem.
why does everything always have to be connected to the bible?
Well, when you are familiar with the Bible you will see CLEAR references in the lyrics that come directly from scripture. And Josh Scogin is a Christian. This means that he holds Jesus Christ above all and his life is dedicated to following the Word of God. So because this is the foundation of his life and faith, he writes or refers to it most the time in his music because we are called to spread the good news, and what better message could be sung? So this is why pretty much everything from The Chariot is...

So because this is the foundation of his life and faith, he writes or refers to it most the time in his music because we are called to spread the good news, and what better message could be sung? So this is why pretty much everything from The Chariot is connected to the Bible. As it seems you may not be in the faith yourself, I understand why people don't get the dedication. But once you are truly born again, you become a completely new person, and all your values are shifted away from yourself and you attempt to follow in Christ's footsteps. God bless
