And Shot Each Other Lyrics

Embrace reaction
We ain't God
But here he comes

Destiny is real and she comes with a smile
Passing by your grave
Reach the plague
Black plague

In this city that never speaks and wakes up swinging
We will paint the rivers red, it's fate
Because they sing the same songs, and they just keep singing
But up above every storm is the day
(shake hands with fate, and with fate shake hands)

(enter Sacred Harp Singers)

How happy is every child of grace
Who feels his sins forgiven
This world, he cries, is not my place
I seek a place in heaven

A country far from mortal sight
Yet, oh, by faith, I see
The land of rest, the saint's delight
A heaven prepared for me

Oh, what a blessed hope is ours
While here on earth we stay
We more than taste the heavenly powers
And antedate that day

We feel the resurrection near
Our life in Christ concealed
And with his glorious presence here
Our earthen vessels filled

i think this is the most talented band EVER!!! they take things on the guitar that sound like crap and make them sound so beautiful

he mostly talks about his faith and God but this song is hard to figure out i love that about them^^^ i love bands that arent afraid to talk about God and stay true to what they believe in so kudos to The Chariot also wanted to add that they are like amazingly brutal!!

This guys played everywhere! A lot of people listening probably do not pay attention to the depth of the lyrics but I'm sure it's gotten through to a few people

I think they are talking about sin and the world we live in present day. When they say, "Embrace reaction We ain't God But here he comes" I think they are talking about the free will God gave all man in our creation. The will to make wrong and right decision (to live by God's word or to be a sinner). We as humans are not perfect and God made us that way.

Destiny is real and she comes with a smile Passing by your grave Reach the plague Black plague

I believe this references the reality of temptation put in front of every man each day in our lives. Temptation comes with a smile. The devil conceals sin in the most pleasant looking ways and the world we live in now is seeing more sin and moral decay than any we have seen before....it is a "plague"

Then the rest of the song goes on to talk about how heaven will open its gates for the believers and those who kept the faith. For those who truly call the Lord their God, they shall not fear death nor will they feel the pain of mortality when judegment comes. The last 4 lines i believe, again, go back to how our generation is seeing horrible moral decay and obvious play out of things desribed in revelation...which means the day of judgement is near...but true believers welcome this day.

This song reminds me a lot of Norma Jean's cd Bless The Martyr Kiss the Child, which was the last cd Josh Scogin, frontman of The Chariot, made with NJ. This song really sounds a lot like BTMKTC. I love it. I love that cd, and this cd is definately a great one.

the song the sacred harp singers sing is a hymn by Charles Wesley (How happy is every child of grace)

A haunting song with a great message. The growl is disturbing. It's almost like they chose to create a soun description of what the Bible calls, "gnashing of teeth".
