Vessel Lyrics

I let you put it in my mouth
I let it get under my skin
I let you pump it through my veins
I let you take me from within
They tell us what we can and cannot do
Same thing we've heard a hundred times before
When I put you inside of me
None of that matters anymore

My God
Can it go any faster?
Oh my God
I don't think I can last here

I am you and you are me
We will never be alone
I have finally found my place in everything
I have finally found my home
I can leave all of this flesh behind
I can see right through this whole façade
I am becoming something else
I am turning into God

My God
Can it go any faster?
Oh my God
I don't think I can last here

I've got a series of comments on Year Zero songs. I hated (HATED) my job. This album got me through the depression and aggravation of a long job search. A lot of it was daydreaming. I'd imagine myself while in staff meetings just jumping up on the table screaming...

My god, can we go any faster? Oh my god, I don't think I can last here My god, can we go any faster? Oh my god, I don't think I can last here

Obviously this is the least likely thing that Trent was referencing when writing this album - still I kind of laugh when I think about it. I mean even if you love your job, haven't you been in a fucking meeting just wishing it would be over?

Strange nobody's posting on this song.

Couple lyric fixes:

I let you pump it through my veins Same thing we've heard a hundred times before Well I can leave all the past behind*

Listen carefully.

The meaning seems pretty obvious if you were following the sites. In case you weren't or don't get it, it's refrencing Parepin, the government introduced it into the water supplies with the people knowledge. http://www.ninwiki.com/Parepin

I believe the first verse parallels sex with governmental control:

'I let you put it in my mouth' - parepin in the water, done with the people's knowledge and consent.

'I let it get under my skin' - nero chip, also consensual (I think).

'I let you pump it through my veins' - Prozira, a drug made by a (fictional) pharm company for 'situational anxiety'.

'I let you take me from within' - the people, the majority, let the powerful few take control of them, body and mind.

Later on, I think it goes from the legal drugs to Opal, and the way it seems to open the minds of the people who take it. Just an overview of the last verse, I just wanted to bring up the way sex can be related to other kinds of control.
