Lonely Planet Lyrics

She wakes up to another day
Crying a river of tears, washing away
Distorted reflections haunting her soul
Silent affection longing for more

The water will stop her from the land that will save her
Withering dreams that will only fade away

The songs she’s been waiting to sing
It’s lost in her people’s endless suffering
Sounds of frustration clouding her mind
Is it salvation or is it a sign

The water will stop her from the land that will save her
Withering dreams that will only fade away

And it’s a new day
It’s a new day
It’s a new day
And it’s a new day

All who cross will thirst no more
Find a life worth living for
On wings of eagles they will soar
They will soar
When will they soar (6x)

And it’s a new day
It’s a new day
It’s a new day
It’s a new day

Won’t you save her lonely planet
Won’t you save her lonely planet
Won’t you save her lonely planet
There’s no way she’d ever stand it

This song is about North Korea. It's the "lonely planet", where it's isolated, by itself. She "wakes up, crying a river of tears", because of the tyranny of Kim Jong Il and his horror. To me, the silent affection is the underground help from various people.

The water that stops her is the river that seperates them from the land, China, that will save her.

And the song talks about its salvation, I guess. And the wings of the eagle to me is America. What does the eagle most symbolize? America

Yeah, that's what it means
