20 Good Reasons Lyrics
They say love hurts
I wrote that book
I climbed that wall I had one look
But you just came around
To say hello
The streets were filled
With guilty hearts
And here was I right from the start
And I lost everything
When I lost you
So tell me baby why-y-y-y
Should I let you go
Give me 20 good reasons
I need to know, yeah
And at that point
There was no pain
There was no sky
There was no rain
For all there was was you
And your sweet face
But life is life
And things will change
Like scenes upon an actor's stage
Tomorrow comes today
For all we know
So tell me baby why-y-y-y
Should I let you go
Give me 20 good reasons
I need to know, yeah
Give me 20 good reasons
Give me 20 good reasons
Give me 20 good reasons
To let you go
So tell me baby why-y-y-y
Should I let you go
Give me 20 good reasons
I need to know, yeah
Tell me baby why-y-y-y
Should I let you go, yeah
Give me 20 good reasons
I need to know, yeah
Give me 20 good reasons
Give me 20 good reasons

It's about loss - about losing a family member and struggling to cope! He wrote it as a tribute to his Grandmother who passed away. He has stated this at MULTIPLE concerts where the song has been played.
hasn't any1 else commented? i love this song soooooo much! when i first heard it i nearly cried, it describes my life perfectly. my best friend who i've known since we were 4 has suddenly just begun hating me becoz i argue with her friend she's known for only a couple of years. she's abandoning me for someone she knows i hate . . . but "why-y-y-y should i let her go?"

Thirsty Merc are becoming a class act.
i think this song is telling to story of his first love. the first paragraph for me is saying that he didnt belive in love .. until he met HER. he then goes on to say how he lost everything, when he lost her. and while he realizes things will change ("But life is life. And things will change.") before you want them to ("Tomorrow comes today"). he still doesnt want her to go...
so yeah .. pretty simple .. something many ppl have experience . wich is why it seems so relatable
I think this song can generally be about someone whose relationship just ended, but they still love the significant other.. OR.. it could be about someone whose faced some sort of rejection, but they're still persistant to hang on and never let go. Just my interpretation. :)
Great song.
AWWW so true adam i did lose everything when i lost you! not that you care
This song has had the SHIT thrashed out of it in Australia... impossible to take this song or any music by Thirsty Merc seriously anymore. Radio stations and 14 year olds should DIE!!
this is a great song. they play it too much on the radio. and i agree mushie01. shit. they turned it so commercial. but we know the real deal. thirsty merc kick ass, and have since 2004's "Empancipate Myself".
