Lady Of The Lake Lyrics
I
Rolled in velvet crystal
Broken reds with scarlet
Hand-me-down of sundry seas
Melting golden flesh is
cracked and spilled in
garden-circles grown of me
Fly me on
Fly me on
The hour will be
Fly me on
Fly me on
The hour will be
II
Window morning I see
wonder come to me
You will turn it,
nothing is the key
Window morning I see
wonder come to me
You will turn it,
nothing is the key
She's the lady of the lake,
wrapped in the sun
With the summer in her hands,
owing no one
In the flashing of her eyes,
life is begun
III
Window morning I see
wonder come to me
You will turn it,
nothing is the key
Window morning I see
wonder come to me
You will turn it,
nothing is the key
She's the lady of the lake,
wrapped in the sun
Grown of features and of flame,
flowing to one
In the burning of her breath,
time is undone
Repeat I
Broken reds with scarlet
Hand-me-down of sundry seas
Melting golden flesh is
cracked and spilled in
garden-circles grown of me
Fly me on
The hour will be
Fly me on
The hour will be
wonder come to me
You will turn it,
nothing is the key
wonder come to me
You will turn it,
nothing is the key
wrapped in the sun
With the summer in her hands,
owing no one
In the flashing of her eyes,
life is begun
wonder come to me
You will turn it,
nothing is the key
wonder come to me
You will turn it,
nothing is the key
wrapped in the sun
Grown of features and of flame,
flowing to one
In the burning of her breath,
time is undone

alcalaunit is exactly right. Those are the actual lyrics. I have the album, with the lyrics, and I've sung these lyrics out loud many times to this great song by this great band! The lyrics that are printed on the album are the same lyrics the band sings in the song.
These lyrics are incredibly difficult, and when I listened to them, I got a very different interpretation from yours. Somehow I wound up with:
Morning, velvet, crystal broken edged with scarlet Hand me down upon the sea Melting golden flesh is cracked and spilled in gardens Circles grow on me. Fly beyond (or perhaps me out), Fly beyond Beyond what will be Fly beyond, Fly beyond Beyond what will be.
Will the morning I see, one day come to me? You will turn it, nothing is the key She's a lady of the lake Wrapped in the sun, With the summer in her hands Owing no one, And the flashing of her eyes, Life is bigger, ah! Da Da!
Will the morning I see, one day come to me? You will turn it, nothing is the key She's a lady of the lake Wrapped in the sun, From her features and her fame(?) Flowing to one(?) And the burning of her breath, Time is under, Ah!
Alright, so my father dug up his old album, and here are the actual lyrics:
I. Rolled in velvet crystal Broken reds with scarlet Hand-me-down of sundry seas Melting golden flesh is cracked and spilled in garden-circles grown of me Fly me on Fly me on The hour will be Fly me on Fly me on The hour will be
II. Window morning I see wonder come to me You will turn it, nothing is the key Window morning I see wonder come to me You will turn it, nothing is the key She's the lady of the lake, wrapped in the sun With the summer in her hand, owing no one In the flashing of her eyes, life is begun
III. Window morning I see wonder come to me.... She's the lady of the lake, wrapped in the sun Grown of features and of flame, flowing to one In the burning of her breath, time is undone
Repeat I.
I can't find the lyrics to any of Starcastle's songs, but I tried to make up the lyrics that almost sound like "Lady Of The Lake".
Because you can barely understand the words they say. I can understand some parts.
Well, Stacastle is really underrated prog rock band from the 70s, and one of my fav. artists.
I think it's about a lady with these amazing powers or something like that.
Guitarist and song writer Steve Hagler told me the classic line that the lyrics don't mean anything...
Some of you guys' lyrics are so far off! Are you sure you don't moonlight as lyrics transcribers for karaoke songs? ;-)
