Reading the lyrics now, it makes me think that he's trying to gain the trust of someone who's been hurt, like elis3xx said, but it kind of makes me think it was to do with sexual abuse.

I see it sort of this girl is scared to be with him because she knows he's not going to play her. As if she's used to it you know? Like he's different and that scares her. He's a gentleman hence "You're three times the lady..." ^^ If a guy wrote this about me, I'd have a whole new appreciation for him =P It's so well written ^^
i like it. the beginning makes it sound like its from a musical, but that makes it pretty awesome. i think its pretty self explanetory, about a boy who is trying to convince a girl who's been hurt before to trust him.
