Testament Lyrics
Procrastinating, pretending to worry
Solving problems by pushing them aside
Wasting time like we've all the time in the world
Deliberation instead of solution, another term for blatant lies
Biding time like we've all the time in the world
And I'm not the only one who thinks we're trying to say
To the heavens and all who hear us: behold all we have made!
We bring destruction, we bring war without an end
and we live in hope that tomorrow never comes
We conquer paradise just to burn it to the ground
And we build a future to honour pasts we left behind
We bring destruction, we bring war without an end
And then we live in hope that tomorrow never comes
The problems get worse before they get better
We find excuses to divert our eyes
Let tomorrow deal with what we could have done
And if you think we're the future, that we build tomorrow
When was the last day without war?
We speak of greatness we have never been
It's just you and me now
It's just you and me now
Against the world
Solving problems by pushing them aside
Wasting time like we've all the time in the world
Biding time like we've all the time in the world
To the heavens and all who hear us: behold all we have made!
We bring destruction, we bring war without an end
and we live in hope that tomorrow never comes
And we build a future to honour pasts we left behind
We bring destruction, we bring war without an end
And then we live in hope that tomorrow never comes
We find excuses to divert our eyes
Let tomorrow deal with what we could have done
When was the last day without war?
We speak of greatness we have never been
It's just you and me now
Against the world

Okay, dude, we get it. There's a freaking interview at that link. Try posting it just ONCE next time instead of in every song from "Judgement" (which, by the way, isn't mentioned at all in your interview).
I LOVE the Apoptygma Berzerk reference in this song, as a first. It made me soar with joy when I heard it.
Otherwise, I agree, Ronan. I wholeheartedly agree.
you, me and the devil make three
This should be the anthem for the Procastination Nation. Hahaha. Anyways, song perfectly describes how one seeks to persevere at no cost. We cry for help when all else fails. This song can be applied to a multitude of subjects. I apply it to my own personal life and Politics. Great song!
though Ronan for sure meant this song to address 'worldly' issues and a false sense of pride, it touches something so much more personal as well. How often do we make promises we break? How often do we keep up a mask of good will while we don't actually feel that particular way, eventually creating war and destruction, procrastinating the inevitable parting with this or that or him or her.
We hold on to morals and values based on the past, on what was true, but is no more, and henceforth crush lives and beliefs by holding on to what we know instead of growing.
As so many songs by VNV.. it addresses something global as well as personal.
