ok so this is one of the most beautiful maccabees songs in existance. I think the meaning is pretty self explanatory...its about a guy trying to get over a relationship. she doesn't want him, he still wants her but is convincing himself otherwise by wiping all traces of her from his life eg "tearing up the letters".
the hope in this song is soooooo beautiful...he can see light at the end of thunnel and knows that this wont last forever..there are better things waiting for him. if you havent got this song, download it immediately.

i agree with hologram heart. it really is one of the beautifulest maccabees songs.
just because youre beautiful "my chin would hit the floor..." doesnt mean this is "the real thing". i think "it" is the quality that makes you want to be with this person forever, and makes you miss them when you cant see them, and makes you think about them all the time, and makes you feel all warm inside (: just being beautiful and superficial isnt the real thing. and i dont care how long it will take, but ill wait for the real thing thank you :) ahhhh i love this song so much definitely inspired by the bugsy malone song, it sounds just like it but i like how the lead singer makes it sound quite sad and nostalgic, hes amazing!
