i always thought it was about jakob and his girlfriend? i don't know, it could apply to both of them. the first verse could just be him thinking back to one of his experiences and realizing that he wants the relationship to be serious. (settle down and call this safety)
when jake wrote this song him and his girlfriend werent together, but ben and his girl were. so thats where i got that.. but you could be right! lol
none the less its still a sweet song about someone thats finally found the love of their life.
