I feel that it is about a guy who has a mutual sexual relationship with a girl, but the girl starts to realize that she has started to love him but he doesn't want to hear that because it would mess the purely sexual nature of their relationship.

When I was younger I thought it was a more profound statement,

but now it sounds like the more rock star "friends with benefits blues." So sad. Wish I had this problem. Come to think about it, may be not. Great Band and great song! Top 10 live band.

It’s amazing how few actual lyrics there are in this song. It’s really just a couple lines about sexuality and being a free spirit, then “don’t tell me you love me” over and over and over. Great song, but when you see it written out it’s impossible to ascribe any deep meaning to it.
