I believe I read that Nichole Nordeman said that this song is about her son, and how she feels that she wants to be brave for him.

I think it's about recovering from depression or an eating disorder or something like that and finding that the love of her son is great motivation for recovery. "I say your name, just your name and I'm ready to jump, even ready to fall" And the bit about fire beginning with a flame etc. to me is about how much of a change there is to make but "if you believe in me, that changes everything" saying it becomes easier with love and support to get past things.

i love this song it's inspiring! "I've never known a fire that didn't begin with a flame and every storm will start with just a drop of rain, but if you believe in me that changes everything" that's my favorite verse int the song! :)
