The Razor's Edge Lyrics
There's fighting on the left
And marching on the right
Don't look up in the sky
You're gonna die of fright
Here comes the razors edge
You're living on the edge
Don't know wrong from right
They're breathing down your neck
You're running out of lives
And here comes the razors edge
Here comes the razors edge
The razors edge
Razors edge, to raise the dead
Razors edge, to cut to shreds
To raise the dead
Here comes the razors edge
Here comes the razors edge
Well here it comes to cut to shreds
The razors edge
The razors edge [It's the razor's edge]
Gotta razors edge [Well, the razor's edge]
You'll be cut to shreds [that you'll be cut to shreds]
by the razors edge [gotta razor's edge]
Gotta razors edge [by the razor's edge]
And marching on the right
Don't look up in the sky
You're gonna die of fright
Here comes the razors edge
Don't know wrong from right
They're breathing down your neck
You're running out of lives
And here comes the razors edge
Here comes the razors edge
The razors edge
Razors edge, to cut to shreds
To raise the dead
Here comes the razors edge
Well here it comes to cut to shreds
The razors edge
Gotta razors edge [Well, the razor's edge]
You'll be cut to shreds [that you'll be cut to shreds]
by the razors edge [gotta razor's edge]
Gotta razors edge [by the razor's edge]

yeah this song seems to use the example of a battle. but more generally its about what its like when the pressures really on you and you will have to be tough to pull through.
It could easily also apply to a grand final game or something.
i believe its about war in general
There are several possible meanings. But I'm not convinced it has to do with a battle. After all, it's "the razor's edge", not "the bayonet's edge". I think of it as a reference to an execution by guillotine. The people to the left and right are simply the spectators. It's either this, or I've just seen too many horror movies.
I love the beginning.. the first 80 seconds.. I think its about a man in a battle or something like that.
AC/DC rocks... I wonder if there will ever be something new...
ummm.....
Nothing to add apart from how awesome this song is.
Hey Mikus Fikus you obviously dont know what you are talking about when it comes to music do you. Spice girls suck, and Madonna sucks as well. So do the human race a favor and be sure to shave your neck next time.
It's pretty clearly an anti-war song. particularly an anti-nuclear song.
"There's fighting on the left/There's marching on the right" refers directly to the political situation. Leftists remain divided and ineffectual while the right-wing, in spite of their best efforts, keeps marching closer to fascism.
"Don't look up in the sky/ You're gonna die of fright" seems to refer to nuclear weapons being the source of our eventual annihilation.
The general theme is that we are standing on the figurative razor's edge. If we slip a little, it's game over.

@ThirdRevolution You're fucking retarded.
@ThirdRevolution You're fucking retarded.
The Razor's Edge is death. The rest is inconsequential.
Or it could have something to do with Malcolm's alcohol addiction and his recovery prior to and during the making of the album.
You\'re all wrong as fuck. The song is about cutting oneself whilst shaving.\n\nMystery solved. Yer welcome :) \n\nAndy
