Aesthetics Of Hate Lyrics
That fuckin prick !!!! you dont just go around disrespecting true musicians especially if they were fucking assassinated. Machine Head has definately hit a new high with this album!!
Just read the Aesthetics of Hate article and it is completely a pile of bullshit. I have a love for both metal, classic rock and classical music such as Bach. William Grim is obviously blinded by a stereotype of metal music, as are most people. His article refers to metal fans as being subhuman and unintelligent, when in fact metal fans hold both areas of an intelligence area, both being within the top 10% and bottom 10% of grade achievements. If Mr. Grim was able to get past his elitist views then he could understand this, with bands such as Metallica, Megadeth, Lamb Of God, Machine Head and Heaven Shall Burn showing that there is such a thing as "Thinking man's metal".
Did you just call Metallica, Lamb of God, and Machine Head "thinking man's metal?"

"Aesthetics Of Hate" is a response to William Grim, who wrote an article on his website, The Iconoclast, titled "AESTHETICS OF HATE: R.I.P. DIMEBAG ABBOTT, & GOOD RIDDANCE", attacking Dimebag Darrell the day he was murdered & attacking the metal community as a whole for paying homage and respect to the slain guitarist. To say that Flynn was angry at Grim is an understatement, but you can't blame him. Flynn looked up to Dimebag as countless metalheads did.
That is very true. I was at download in 2007, and He explained what the song meant may I say it was a very touching speech, All about Dimebag's death. Got rest his soul.

This Grim guy sounds like a douche. I never knew about that story until I read this comment, and I already hate that guy.

Dude this song rocks! I heard it the first time on MH's myspace. The lyrics are fantastic and Rob is at his finest.
I guess Sonic Raider has summed it up. This guy's pathetic. How dare he attack Dimebag. Why did it take this long for a song to be written about him?
Roar! I liked this the 1st time I listened to it, then I went back to listening to the new Trivium album and Burn My Eyes, but then I keep listening to it and it keeps getting better, can't wait to get the album! I like the Far Beyond Driven reference, the second half of that album is the greatest ever!!!
Hey Lukey if you want to hear another Dime tribute listen to "Nothing Remains" by Chimaira off their self titled cd. The lyrics are inspired by the tragedy. This song is one of favs off the album as well though, put together well and great lyrics.
To wow...
Thanks for the recommendation mate. I'll have a listen to that soon.
I personally didn't like Dime's style of playing, but I know what a great man he was and how huge of an influence he was to the metal and hard-rock genre. For that, I respect him. Oh, and if you do a google search, you can find several of William Grim's emails and sent hateful remarks to the dumbass who wrote that article. :) Send away, oh defenders of metal! And, to Lukey, if you havn't already, there are at least two tributes to Dime from one of his best friends, Zakk Wylde of Black Label Society. One is "In This River", and the other I know of is "Dirt On The Grave"
Impresive song. "Nothing Remains" by Chimaira was written when Dimebag got killed but it's not directly about him. Another song about Dime is "Side of a bullet" by Nickelback.
This is my favorite MH song off this album. Anyone who doubts MH's ability to make kickass metal needs only to listen to this song. That Iconoclast bastard who wrote that article on Dime and matal fans everywhere deserves the same fate as Nathan Gale(the man who slayed Dime). Another song similar to this is Hellyeah's "waging war". I haven't found any solid connections, but the lyrics are definitely either about the same guy, or people like him.
