Confessions Lyrics

I've been up for days,
Trying to find a way to write this confession down
Seems every line I write's a miss,
At least this I'll admit
For what I've done, I am not proud
But there's no need to pretend, no need for innocence
I've got to be honest now

My verdict has come in,
It says I'm guilty for my sins this time
I thought I could escape,
But then I finally felt the weight,
Of my crimes.
It's passion, it's not love,
Infatuation never ends up right
At least I won't be alone tonight

'Cause I don't want to be alone tonight.

The prosecution rests,
with convincing evidence
It seems I've been deceived
So now I stand alone and wait for the first stone,
To be cast upon me

My verdict has come in,
It says I'm guilty for my sins this time
I thought I could escape,
But then I finally felt the weight of my crimes
it's passion, it's not love,
Infatuation never ends up right
At least I won't be alone tonight

At least I won't be alone tonight
'Cause I don't want to be alone tonight

Dallas said in an interview that he wrote the song a while after he had gotten out of a 2 year relationship and that his band was getting bigger. And he didn't think women only wanted to be with him because of his accomplishments. So he was jaded with relations. And he finally realized that he was just being an asshole. That's why he wrote the song.

Seems to me that this is about infedelity, and he is judging himself during the act itself. He knows it's wrong and he will have to face the consequences, but at least he "won't be alone tonight."

easily one of my favourite songs

I think its about him cheating on a loved one. And he regrets it. He knows he messed up.

what about the lines 'at least I won't be alone tonight' ?

I think he wants to find someone who really cares, and he has found them, but he's just in the relationship so he's not alone, for the 'passion, not love'. and so he feels like he's guilty for leading her on

The lover feels it's love, he doesn't. but he doesn't care. ...mayybe

i feel like the line "at least i won't be alone tonight" means that he has all these demons now that he got caught, he's not alone, he's with his thoughts and the demons that eat away at him.

well maybe he's relating his music composition to a relationship. he wants love and to write a perfect song, but all he has is infatuation. he doesn't want to sell himself short

Could it possibly be "it seems every line I write's a mess"?

Jeez, if these are the correct lyrics I was way off. I thought that it was 'a mess' too, and that 'I never hear that perfect sound' was 'Of what I've done, I am not proud' and also that 'Infatuation never ends up right' was 'Infatuation never ends, or pride' as in pride never ends either. Dunno.

Lyrics are way off, the songs not even hard to interpret.
