I can realete to this now, being at that stage in my life... you can't wait to be grown up, it looks all rosy to get to where you want when you enter the adult world proper, but those dreams don't always work out,a nd you're just in thae 9-5 drudgery and suddenly overwhelmed with responsibility.

I'm listening to the deluxe version of Setting Sons right now and this single is featured on there - the lyrics and song are just top notch, I can't believe this was Paul writing when he was barely 21. Especially love the song bridge around 2:15
you can REALLY hear the Chaka Khan lyrical and even musical influence permeating this track
A wonderful tune exciting, melodious with intelligent great lyrics. They were just on the cusp of mega success when this came out and you can see why. Paul and the boys were eally finding their groove with this and Strange Town. Still has resonance for me as grown up. No corporations for the new age sons? I wish.
