The way he sings just captivates me. In the start of the song he is very mellow and then as you get to the second stanza he starts to pick it up and put more emotion into the song. Once he gets to Because he is back to mellow.... Brilliant.
As for the meaning, to me it's pretty denoted in the song. He is in love with a girl but he knows that their days are numbered. So today he just wants to "pretend" and by tomorrow he will stop loving her.
Even though there is a rift in their relationship that will lead to them breaking up, he still can't get over the feeling of being with her. He wants to set their differences aside and pretend that everything is okay so they can be together one last time. I think that's the meaning of this song.
On a personal level, for me it's the difference between knowing something in your head but feeling something else in your heart. The heart is not always right, but you still feel it just the same.
I personally see it the same way. It's pretty self explanatory. He knows it's over but he wants one more just to remember the feeling of being in love. And then when tomorrow comes he will being to get over here.
What a great song. It perfectly describes my relationship right now. This song is basically what I kept telling myself in the beginning of the break/break up, that I wanted to enjoy one last night together, and then tomorrow we would deal with whatever happened next.
