Golden Days Lyrics

On your mark, get ready, set
And run away for good
There's a bold and brighter light
Where my soul once stood

Fall apart confetti come on
Cry right on my sleeve
I am just a ghost of hearts
That break bittersweet

Am I in too
Yeah I can't hear much
But the melody comin' from you
Baby, please, don't rush
Keep the tempo slow and you
Let me hear the words you say
Let's go and get tangled in chains of golden days

Counting down T minus 10, 9...
Wait I still believe
There's a distance in your eyes
Only mine can see

Leave the ground behind us
I'll be floating round your lips
I am just a host of arms
Holding one full wish

Am I in too
Yeah I can't hear much
But the melody comin' from you
Baby, please, don't rush
Keep the tempo slow and you
Let me hear the words you say
Lets go and get tangled in chains of golden days

(bridge)

Am I in too
Yeah I can't hear much
But the melody comin' from you
Baby, please, don't rush
Keep the tempo slow and you
Let me hear the words you say
Lets go and get tangled in chains of golden days

Am I in too
Yeah I can't hear much
But the melody comin' from you
Baby, please, don't rush
Keep the tempo slow and you
Let me hear the words you say
Lets go and get tangled in chains of golden days
Lets go and get tangled in chains of golden days
Lets go and get tangled in chains of golden days
Lets go and get tangled in chains of golden days

Corrections (according to the lyric booklet for "Air Stereo"):

"There's a bold and brighter light" should be "There's a bold unbridled lie."

"Am I in too" should be "Am I in tune?" (does the former make any sense?)

"Keep the tempo slow and you" should be "Keep the tempo slow and blue."

"I am just a host of arms holding one full wish" should be "I am just a host of arms holding one fool wish." (This is an instance of the misheard lyrics making more sense than the actual.)

I think it's a straightforward love song about escaping world together to an ideal time and place. Just being immersed in your lover and enjoying one another's company.

Someone told me to download this song when they wanted me to listen to The Damnwells and it hooked me. By far my favorite song of thiers. I think his "one fool/full wish" is that he and his girl could just enjoy their time. "Golden days" would mean like, really perfect, satisfying time together and he just wants to be caught up in that and nothing else. All he hears is her. I'm confused by the line "there's a bold unbridled lie where my soul once stood." Any ideas?

Yeah it deffinatly should be "tune" instead of "too" it makes alot more sence considering the rest of the courus is relating to music. Love this song!
